Musupta was the original name a group of peasant dwellings going back to the 13th century and one of those is now a restaurant in the thriving village of Sant Climent.
The growth of the tourist development Cala en Porter and the subsequent establishment of the urbanisations of Binixica, Son Vitamina and Calas Coves on the connecting road between the coast and Mahon have let to Sant Climent becoming a thriving shopping center with a famously well stocked supermarket, high quality butchers and bakers. there are also a couple of popular pubs and several bars and restaurants.
But the charm of Sant Climent is that it retains an old fashioned feeling, not surprising considering its antiquity. It was first occupied much earlier than the 13th century and nearby is the prehistoric talyot of Torello and the remains of a Christian bansilica dating from the Roman occupation.
The dead straight roads leading in and out of Sant Climent are reputed to be on Roman foundations, though this may be apocryphal.
