Es Mercadal speed trap in full-time service now
The radar speed trap at kilometre 21.4 on the main road near Es Mercadal was put into full-time service yesterday. According to the State Government’s representative in Menorca, Javier Tejero, the radar has functioned periodically since February whilst undergoing tests.
The Guardia Civil yesterday started a 15-day informative campaign against speeding t make drivers aware of the dangers of driving at unsuitable speeds.
With effect from 1st May, driving without a licence will be considered an offence under the Penal Code.
