We had an amazing week in Son Bou. Cala'n Bosch was glorious last year and we loved it but Son Bou was on another level entirely.
We were delighted with our accomodation in Son Bou Gardens. We stayed in El Girasols which although a bit of a walk to town, it was quiet with a lovely pool. The complex is run like clockwork!! The gardens were perfectly manicured and spotlessly clean. We loved The Gondola restaurant which was right beside us and the staff there were fabulous too.
We ate out every night - the highlight of which was Casa Andres which although a wee tad more expensive than other places it was worth every Euro for the exquisite food and service. The steak and lamb were to die for!! The Gondola food was beautiful too - in fact everywhere we went was lovely.
We hired a speedboat on the beach for an hour and had a thrilling time cruising the coast and watching the fish jump. Fabulous experience!!
We watched the sun go down on the beach after dinner a few evenings which was totally spectacular then fed the ducks for a while before hitting the cocktails.
The beachbars were expensive but a lovely treat in the evening for half an hr after feeding the ducks.
We spent most evenings between The Copacabana, the KitCat and the San Jaime Club. The tribute acts were fantastic - especially the gorgeous Rikki Ryan as Elvis and the amazing Temptations!! Such fun and laughs!!! The lovely Lucy in the Kitcat is a great ambassador for England and the Chocolate Cake shots were gorgeous!!! Jaime in the Copacabana is definitely the hardest working waiter I've ever met and great craic too!!!
The birdlife was a highlight of our trip and we had the wonderful privilege of having an owl swoop down and land at our feet whilst walking home late one night through the complex. It was breathtakingly beautiful!!
It rained twice during our trip - the second time we stayed in the pool anyway and it just added to the fun!!
Got caught by the sprinklers one night on the way home which was some laugh!!
I've nothing negative to say about Son Bou. I loved every second of our trip and will definitely be back!!
