MENORCA'S PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 2011
See below for a list of Spain’s National Holidays as well as Regional Holidays relevant to Menorca, when the banks as well as most shops (except in the resorts during the summer months) are closed. To save getting caught out, check out the dates below.
If a Public Holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, many people like to take an extra day i.e. the Monday or Friday for a long weekend or the middle day to link them together – this is known as a ‘puente' or a bridge day.
Please note, some of the Regional Holidays apply to Menorca and may be regarded as Public Holidays in certain instances. Also, for those falling on a Sunday (Labour Day and Christmas Day for 2011), the following day may be treated as a Public Holiday. Check locally to confirm.
