Welcome to the site Sounds to me like it was in Es Castell and you were walking along Cala Fons - ES castell is next to Mahon. Access could also have been via a steep slope - plenty of restaurants - there is also a pancake shop on the slope and the gift shop is at the bottom of the slope opposite the pancake shop. Dinkums is at the bottom too. Glass bottomed boat leaves from the quayside.

Tickets can be bought from Dinkums at the bottom of the slope - run by Peter and Jose. Trip takes you to Mahon harbour where you can either stay on boat and come straight back or get off and look around the town and then catch a later boat back.
Well worth it

Hi, Yes Jacquip is correct the place you are looking for is Es Castell, but if you want to get to it on the wooden walkway you need to go to Santa Anna which is next door to Es Castell, just go east for about 500yards and you will see a sign for Santa Anna on the left if you go down that road (Carrer Tramauntana) at the bottom you can park and walk down the steps onto the wooden walkway and then round to the bars and restaurants. Lovely at night in the mid of the summer. We lived in Menorca for six years and that was our favourite place to go in the evening. If you can't find it don't worry just go to the square in Es Castell and looking at the police station turn right and walk down one of three roads and you will come to bars and restaurants just down some steps. Hope this helps and you have a great time.
