Below is the link to our Utube site with a short video of the Es Canutells village/town. A lovely little village located 5-10 minutes from Sant Climent. Only one hotel situated in the little village called Mar de Menorca which looks beautiful with tennis courts and play areas located at the back of the hotel. Beach situated 5-10mins from the hill down a hill (but a car park overlooking the beach if you did not want to walk) Beach bar/restaurant over looking the beach. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPCssKxea2QSorry stressed this took for ever to upload computer needs a good clear out of data I think lol pigeonpie

Hi First proper chance i've had to log in since we've been back, had so much to do! The holiday was great, couldn't ask for better weather - approx 35c every day! ;D Basically we booked a cheap short break in the sun and thats exactly what we got. The location was great for us, nice and quiet and safe for kids. The beach was ideal, beautifully clear, shallow warm water. The only downside I would say is the rotting vegetation smell from the reeds behind and the sand is a bit hard!!! Not a problem though. The apartments were fine. We got a really good room, 2 beds, air con, huge balcony. It was basic but didn't expect anything else. My parents got a ground floor room with no air con so we were lucky! Downside to the room was the disgusting smell coming from the bath everytime we had a shower. My OH discovered there was a big gap between the edge of the bath and the sealant so water was running down underneath the bath and sat stagnant. We went and bought some bleach to try and hide the smell a bit! Told them about it when we left so hopefully its been fixed now. The pool was good, very big and lovely and warm. We were surprised to find the restaurant down some steps next to the pool, underneath the bar. Thought it was a strange place for a restaurant! Food was ok, not a great lot of choice but was fine for 5 days. Don't think we would have liked to have been there for longer than a week. We all agreed the worst thing about the holiday was the entertainment at night. There was never much happening and what they did do was pretty dire! We never went there for the entertainment though. Anyway, all in all we had a great time. All we wanted was a short, cheap break in the sun. For the money we paid it was worth it. We probably wouldn't go back there again but we never usually stay in the same place twice anyway. Still love Menorca too! Hopefully my uploading of pictures will work........... (DON'T KNOW HOW TO ADD MORE THAN 1 PIC TO THE POST SO WILL DO THEM ALL SEPARATELY, ALSO IT WILL ONLY LET ME UPLOAD SMALLER FILES??) Attachments:

Thanks for your report Stressed - pleased you had a great time.
We were over a couple of weeks ago for the Mercadel fiesta and yes the weather was scorching!!! To be honest I had forgotton how hot it got during the summer - recent years we got over May and September and last year June as well.
Where else have you tried in Menorca?

Hi I've been to Menorca 3 other times before. The 1st time was when I was 15 and it was my first time on a plane and first holiday abroad! We stayed in Cala Santandria. I remember it had a lovely beach/cove. The 2nd time was when my eldest was about 3 and we stayed in Santo Tomas which also had a lovely beach but was a lot bigger! The 3rd was about 3 years ago in Cala 'n' Bosch. The harbour with all the restaurants was great as our hotel was just opposite but we weren't very keen on that beach and the water was a bit too rough for the children! We go to Majorca a lot too but I think Menorca just wins out of the 2 for me.

Santa Tomas is my favourite coastal resort :)whereas Calan Bosch is my other half's favourite. Me personally Ive been coming to the island for 28 years Ive stayed at Es Castell, Santo Tomas, Cala Blanca, Calan Bosch, Cala Galdana and Es Mercadel. Absolutely love the island and the people.

Hi there stressed Sorry not posted but been working and its mad with it been the main season. Sounds as though you had a fab time, glad you and your family enjoyed yourself!!! We woundered what the apartments would be like now we know thanks to your brilliant review!!! Regarding entertainment thats the problem sometimes with certain acts they get a bit "tired" shall we say. That is why I love Menorca as you can go watch what you want, where you want with no questions asked. As long as you buy a drink whilst watching the entertainment everyone seems to be happy ;D ;D ;D Myself we came on holiday to Menorca a 8 years ago and fell in love with it straight away! We only stayed in the same place The Talyots (if that is how you spell it) Los Defines and loved it. The boys had there freedom which they loved and we kept getting the best apartment year after year lol. We never explored the island in that 8 year has there was so much to do at the complex!! We then moved to Es Mercadal (which we knew nothing about ) 3 years ago and wish we had done it years ago!! I agree with Jacquip the people and the culture is fantastic on this island. I always find the locals both friendly and helpful and especially in our village will bend over backwards to help you anyway they can!! Sooooooooooooo have you booked for next year and if so where may we ask ;D ;D ;D Regarding your pics can I ask did you use the wImg Uploader or the normal attachment upload
