The medical centre in the annex of the former Verge del Toro Hospital in Maó is to be officially inaugurated next Monday, but will not enter service until 7th July.
The new centre will handle residents in the eastern section of Maó district, that is, within imaginary lines drawn from the Costa Ses Piques to the Explanada and from the Sant Lluís road to the port, as well as people living in Es Castell, a total population of 23,469. Some 12,500 patients will change doctors and letters have been sent to those affected.
The centre will open Mondays to Thursdays from 0730 to 2000 hrs. and Fridays 0730 to 1500 hrs. and will be staffed by 24 people, including 7 doctors and 2 midwives.
