The PP of Ciutadella requests a new health center to lighten the service load of the doctor
The PP of Ciutadella will present/display a motion in the next plenary session to request several directed measures to lighten the ratio of patients for the doctor in the west locality, one of highest of Balears. Between these measures it emphasizes a study of needs that reflect the medium term situation of the areas of health in Ciutadella, that according to the PP will be saturated due to the increase of population.
“It is not normal that Maó have two hospitals and in Ciutadella, we count only on one”, points Antònia Gener, popular regidora in the Ajuntament. “It is high-priority to lower the ratio of patients for the doctor, because we are in levels of 1,750 patients for the doctor, when the average of the islands is in 1.500”. Gener points as tactical mission the area of padiatría, in which each doctor takes care of 1,380 patients, “when in the rest of Menorca this ratio is of 967”.
It is by this, and seeing that “a medium term necessity exists to finally extend the medical facilities in Ciutadella”, that the popular ones will present/display in the next plenary session of the institution a motion in which will ask that it urges to the Conselleria of Salut of the Govern to increase the number of paediatricians “so that we can arrive at a ratio of 900 patients by doctor”, to increase the group of general medicine and specialties, and, in the mid term to request a study on the predicted needs, inside the creation of a second center of health in the zone is included.
