The Traffic Department of Ciutadella Council has announced that the Calle de la Purísima has now been pedestrianised and that vehicle access is restricted to residents of the road and authorised vehicles. The action comes in response to a petition from residents following recent improvement work on the road.
Residents in the area are recommended to apply for an authorisation card. Delivery vehicles authorised to to circulate the old part of the city will be allowed to use the Calle de la Purísima during restricted hours.
The Council explained that this is part of the progressive process which will eventually see the old, historic centre of the city pedestrianised and free of traffic.
