Artrutx Lighthouse to become a restaurant
The Port Authorities have awarded the concession for the Faro de Artrutx in Ciutadella district to a Menorcan company, Esfipavafil SL, for a period of ten years with permission to convert part of the building into a restaurant.
According to the authorities, little work will be needed to convert the lighthouse, so the restaurant could be open next summer. The dining room, which will seat around 50 customers, will be housed in part of the main building whilst the kitchen and store room will be in the old lighthouse keeper’s cottage. Half of the lighthouse and adjacent buildings will be kept to provide technical services to aid shipping.
