The tourist bus from Ciutadella
A new tour bus driven by Coach Torres has received the support of the Island Council, providing extra mobility to allow travel points of interest to visitors of the municipality.
The initiative begins with the conversion of one of the vehicles, decorated with photographs of the monuments and the most emblematic of the city as the Cathedral, the port, the Naveta des Tudons the Molí des Comte or Ses Voltes. Two drivers also give out tourist information.
Tour price
The output is in Plaça des Pins, climbs towards the Castell de Sant Nicolau, the promenade runs through the Platja Gran Canal and reaching the Salat, cemetery board until the perimeter and facing the road. Continuing to the Ronda Sur Líthica, and links to the main road to reach the Naveta des Tudons. From here starts the journey back, with several stops in the Industrial and entering the city by the Camí Contramurada of Mao
and to the point of exit at Plaça des Pins.
Throughout the tour there are many stops where visitors can get off the bus, to take in the views and embark on the bus again. During the journey, the vehicle's loudspeaker provides explanations in Catalan, Castilian and English on history, culture and the various points of interest.
As for the price of the service, two alternatives have been established. The first is the City Tour for 5 euros and is valid for two hours, while the other is the Citadel to Fons, for 10 euros and a period of 24 hours. Furthermore, with the purchase of a ticket discounted tickets to Líthica to Naveta, the Museu de sa Font des Bastió and all sites that join the initiative.
Coach Torres has scheduled two hours. From May 16 to October 15 will be 10 to 21 hours, while the October 16 until the time of travel for the elderly, and to restart the season IMSERSO until May 15, the service will be held between 9.30 am and 13.30 pm.
Increased service
Coach Torres believes that the initiative will get a good response from tourists, so the intention is to incorporate another bus, smaller, cabriolet, adapted for disabled passengers, with individual headphones in several languages and with more information. The objective will be frequencies and even there could be changes in the route to more points of interest.
