Just got back from the new Indian Restaurant in Mahón, Menorca. Located on the port (which will be lovely to sit outside in Summer whilst eating your meal and beautiful views of the port).
We had the menú del día priced at €12.90 each which includes a appetizer (papadum and dips), main meal, rice or nan bread and dessert.
7 little chicken pakoras (which were to die for, very yummy) on a bed of salad
2 chicken samosas (very nice and not greasy) on a bed of salad
Chicken Balti and Beef Korma (both these were very mild) They have 17 sauces to choose from so next time we will get the hotter ones!!
x2 Nan breads which were a good size and quite surprised me! Personal preference would have liked them thicker and they looked quite greasy when served due to the fact they had just been cooked. But in saying that they did not taste greasy and they tasted fantastic.
Dessert was a choice of apple pie, orange cake, chocolate cake or Indian House cake. I had the chocolate cake which was the best cake I have ever tasted. It was a nice slice (anymore would not have been able to eat it) layered with butter cream and fresh like squirty cream and a strawberry glaze on top drizzled with chocolate. Chris had the Indian House cake which was 2 small balls of cake coated in coconut in a sauce of some sort. If you like sweet things get this you will love it.
We also had a small beer (€2.25) and diet coke(€1.95)
Total 30,00€ (meal was 25.80€)
The Establishment
Nice entrance with seating area outside and view of the port. Inside SPOTLESS. Lovely Indian pictures on the walls, and nice relaxing Indian music playing in the background. tables with nice crisp white cloths and maroon cloths underneath. Black leather styled chairs.
Toilets spotless in mens and ladies. Ladies has disabled entrance and wide area inside to maneuver. Coat hangers, nice sized sink area and hand wash and dryer. Nice and clean, smelled nice and nicely tiled.
Bar Area good selection of drinks alcoholic/non alcoholic and supply of ash trays if required. (they are not placed on the table when you go in and need to ask for one)
The staff - two young gentlemen speaking Spanish & English. Very clean and presentable, polite and not pushy and did not rush you with your meal. Explained things very well if you did not understand what to order.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Menorca. We were both full so goodness knows what the meals are like if you are not having the menú del día lol.
I have attached a menú del día and a take away menu (which is the same as the one eating in apart from it does not have the children's and drinks selection on) they informed us that if you order a take away it would be ready in approximately 15 minutes.
Opening Times
Open every day between
1.00 - 3.30 and 7.00 until 11.30
closed Sunday dinner and all day Monday
