Disappointment in Europe for Valeriano
Valeriano Allès’ complicated journey to Belgrade to play in the European Volleyball Cup last Wednesday did not yield the desired result with the team losing 3-0 to their hosts Estrella Roja. The Belgrade team now only need to win one set of the return match in Ciutadella to knock the Menorcan team out of the competition.
There was some compensation for the Ciutadella team on Saturday when they played Traysesa Santa Cruz in a league match on home turf and emerged the victors by 3-0, placing them third in the Superliga. Their next opponents will be Murcia.
