Menorca misses out again on “El Gordo”
Spain’s Christmas Lottery, “El Gordo”, once again failed to deliver the top prizes to the island, with only one group winning a significant amount.
Twenty workers at the DHL transport firm in Maó won 40,500 euros, equivalent to 1,350 euros each, on a ticket bought for them on the mainland by a work colleague. Otherwise, the best the island’s gamblers could expect was the “reintegro” which gave them their money back.
