Victory in Europe for Valeriano Allés
The Ciutadella women’s volleyball team returned to the island in good spirits last week following their successful debut in Europe on Wednesday, when they played their first qualifying game in the European Volleyball Confederation Cup and beat their French opponents, Istres OPV, 0-3. The return match will be in Ciutadella today and Valeriano Allés only need to win one set to go through to the next round.
The team were also successful in their league match in Mallorca last Saturday, beating Oxidoc Palma by 0-3 and moving to fifth place in the Superliga table. Their next fixture is a home game on Saturday evening against Haro Rioja Volley (currently one place below them in the league).
