Island Councils asked to postpone non-essential projects
The President of the Balearic Government, Francesc Antich, has asked the four Island Councils in the archipelago to contain their spending next year and to postpone any non-essential projects. At the same time he reiterated the need to continue investments, social policies and the reduction of taxes to encourage economic activity.
The Councils will receive 193 million euros in the 2010 budget, the same amount as this year, and will also benefit from State investments.
