Missing diver turns up in Cala en Turqueta
A diver on holiday on the island for a few days was reported missing by his wife after failing to turn up at Macarelleta an hour after he had left Macarella at 1630 hrs.
A search was immediately launched for J.E., involving the Salvamento Marítimo, the Local Police and firemen from Ciutadella, the Cruz Roja from Ferreries and the Guardia Civil. After searching for an hour without result, a helicopter equipped with night cameras was called in. Finally, the diver, a doctor by profession, turned up at 1900 hrs. in Cala en Turqueta, in perfect physical condition, after swimming underwater for around three hours.
