Low season visitors attracted by bowls holidays in S’Algar
For the last two weeks over 100 flat green bowlers have been staying at the Hotel San Luis in S’Algar for a bowling “Friendly Fiesta” organised by Personal Touch Holidays.
Formed into four groups they have enjoyed friendly competitions among themselves as well as matches against the Menorca Bowls Club. Although sprinkled with a dozen English county bowlers they proved no match for the Menorcan bowlers who won the first match by 3 points, the second by 22 and the final one by 36 points. It proves again that home advantage is a big plus in bowling terms.
As some of the groups left after one week they were replaced by others, with the main party staying for two weeks.
The Frank Elliott group, comprising over forty bowlers, arrives this week and will also play three matches against Menorca.
To enable Personal Touch to complete their competition in a satisfactory manner, the Menorca Bowls Club has provided guest bowlers every day. The Club’s Captain and Committee wish to thank all members for the superb co-operation and commitment shown during the last fortnight and hope it will continue for the next two weeks.
