The “milestone”, kilometre zero, was ceremoniously put in place on Saturday to inaugurate the public right of way around the island’s coastal footpath.
Sited at Es Grau the starting point of the 179 kilometre route was opened in the presence of Island President, Joana Barceló, along with over seven hundred people of all age groups.
Fittingly, several horses were among those that trod the path on this historic occasion.
