Lower nitrate levels in Maó drinking water
For the first time this year the latest analyses, taken on 7th September, of the five grids supplying water to Maó show that the levels of nitrates have dropped.
However, three of the supply systems still show readings higher than the permitted maximum of 50 milligrams per litre; Llucmaçanes (55.3), Malbúger (54) and POIMA (the industrial estate) (50.3). The other two grids, Turó and Sant Climent, registered 46.7 and 43.3 respectively.
