This summer is the third warmest one of last the 40 years
What it was already possible to be intuited, as is pronounced on a daily basis in popular conversations of all type and location, it has been confirmed by the scientific datas. The meteorological summer that we finished closing (the astronomical one continues effective and finishes the 21 of September) is, in the case of Menorca, the third warmest one of last the 40 years, period of which it is considered that trustworthy data by the existence of a sufficient and stable network of observatories exist that allow to establish exact comparisons.
Only the summers of 2003 and 1994 surpass, as far as average temperature, to the present one. The data contributed by the State Agency of Meteorología (AEMET) corresponding to the months of June, July and August indicate that the average temperature of this summer has been of 24.9 degrees Celsius, when the considered habitual or standardized average (between 1071 and 2000) is in the 23.5 degrees. It is possible to emphasize that in 2003, considered the month par excellence and object of all the comparisons torrid, the average in these three months of more heat was of 27.2 degrees Celsius.
In other points of Balears, like Sa Pobla or Palma, this summer is placed like the second warmest one of last the forty years, only surpassed, of course, by the one of 2003.
