The Banca March obtained 168.1 million Euros net profit in 2008, a 4.5% decrease on the previous year but considered acceptable by the bank in view of the economic situation. The company is family owned and is the foremost bank on the Balearic Islands.
It also has branches in the Canary Islands, Andalucia and Levante and is growing stongly in Barcelona. It is the only bank in Spain that is not on the stock exchanges, and no dividends are paid. All profits are invested in order to maintain its high rate of solvency.
