Ferreries studies enable a new parking at the entrance to Cala Galdana
Ferreries City Council are in favor of maintaining the carpark designed by the Council at 750 meters from Cala Mitjana.The argument of the government team of Ferreries is that it is an equipment in the Special Plan of ISNA and much closer to the beach to the alternative location that offers the ownership of the land to be expropriated.
However, the mayor is in favor of starting negotiations for an agreement with the owners offering as an alternative agricultural land adjacent to the access road to Cala Galdana, in the vicinity of the first round of urbanization.
Josep Carreras says that is an issue that has been discussed on numerous occasions and that is still open. The City Council are considering the possibility that these rural areas could become a parking area for Cala Galdana. "With urbanization there is a shortage of parking spaces. The location of this rural area would be ideal to create a bag of parking at the entrance to Cala Galdana. We do not create a macroparking, but a zone that allows a sponge, "says the mayor.
In return, the City would compensate the owners of the land with a declaration of interest in a center or a starting point for routes of access to public space of Cala Mitjana. Josep Carreras said that the estate has an important potential use of environmental views.
The mayor said that this is an initial proposal that needs to be debated within the City and an agreement with the property. In principle it is considered an embryonic idea that could benefit both the City Council, with the creation of new parking spaces for Cala Galdana, as the owners of the land, which could exploit the tourist attraction of the natural area of Cala Mitjana.
The Council plans to build a parking 750 meters from Cala Mitjana to replace that work behind the beach. To enable the parking, the Council must expropriate land to the company that has an alternative proposal to the institution and the City Island. Suggests the property to enable the car park about 200 meters from where the Council proposes, in some rural areas that are owned and adjacent to the access road to Cala Galdana.
