Road accident leaves one person dead and four slightly injured
A 33-year old man died in a traffic accident last Wednesday afternoon and four other people were slightly injured. The incident occurred at km. 26.7 on the main Maó to Ciutadella road (near the entrance to Ferreries) when a motorcyclist collided head on with a Mitsubishi vehicle heading in the opposite direction.
Emergency services called to the scene treated the four occupants of the vehicle, all residents of Ferreries, but were unable to help the motorcyclist, 33-year old M.B.E. from Ciutadella.
The accident caused severe tailbacks on the main road and traffic had to be temporarily diverted via Es Migjorn Gran. Investigations continue into the cause of the tragic accident.
