Day of Sant Pere in Mercadal


At 20 hours the City of Es Mercadal held in the special plenary to present programs and celebrations of Sant Antoni Sant Martí 2009.

Then, in the Plaça Constitució, read the opening festivities and banda music from Es Mercadal, under the direction of Litus Arguimbau interpret happy tune.

First time I have been to this and was a good couple of hours out last night. All chairs were put out for everyone to sit on and it was packed

The Mercadal band were all there in nice bright orange matching shirts and played all the well known tunes including 'jaleo 09' which set the butterfly's going in my stomach lol. I am like the pied piper with that tune lol.

A uniformed officer with a drum read from a script to officially open the fiesta of Sant Marti. It was all in Menorquin but must have had some funny bits in it as the locals kept having a chuckle.
