Gospel concert in Sant Lluís by Els Estelots

Els Estelots choir are to hold a Gospel concert at the Sant Lluís football ground on Sunday 28th June, 2030 hrs., entrance to which is free.

Five years ago the choir decided to bring Gospel on to the island and started the Gospel Workshops in Sant Lluís, under the direction of Moisès Sala from the group “Gospel Viu”. The concert is being held to celebrate the fifth anniversary and to allow as many people as possible the chance to enjoy gospel singing.

Set off a bit late but got there for 8.30pm. Was unsure how many people would be there although it was packed out the football ground we managed to find a parking spot not far from the event

The concert was fantastic although I was expecting black singers with long gowns on lol (watching too much of sister act). No gowns or black singers but an eventful night. The solo singer who sang 'amazing grace' was fantastic.

The songs majority I had heard of and most were in English and then they started jazzing things up with 'Jesus Was' if thats what it is called lol.

Although they did not have the power of black gospel singers voices the show was brilliant.

They sang for about 2 hours, the weather was lovely and warm and all ages attended singing and dancing.

Well worth a visit to watch them if they ever preform a concert again
