Aeroclub to stage two aircraft races
This weekend 23rd & 24th May will see two races with time compensation being held at the Aeroclub, the first time such races have been held in Spain. Fifteen pilots from Britain, Spain, Italy and Ireland will compete in the events, organised by the British Royal Aero Club, which count towards the European championship.
The first race, the Mallorca Cup, will start at 1630 hrs. on Saturday and the second, the Menorca Cup, at 1230 hrs. on Sunday. Both trophies have been forged in commemoration of the first aircraft to arrive on the islands; in Menorca’s case a Savoia piloted by Manel Colomer in 1921.
