Print signed by Alonso raises money for LifeStraw projectFrederik Naumann Sant Lluís The Rotary Club of Menorca has received another generous donation in support of its LifeStraw Project aiming to provide people in areas affected by natural disasters with safe potable water. At the Club’s meeting last Tuesday it was announced that the sale of a print signed by the F1 racing driver Fernando Alonso had raised 1,000 pounds sterling for the initiative. The print, which shows a Renault racing car, was donated by a long-standing client of Colin Guanaria, past president of the Rotary Club Menorca and founding partner of the estate agency Bonnin Sanso. The client, Paul Seaby, donated the print specifically to raise funds for LifeStraw. His son, Paul Seaby junior, is the engineering co-ordinator for the Renault F1 Team. The signed print was acquired by a UK buyer, Nigel Griffiths, who owns a property in Menorca and who has supported Rotary and the LifeStraw Project in the past. His 1,000 pounds sterling donation for the print will allow another 300 LifeStraws to be bought, each of them able to filter and purify up to 700 litres of contaminated water, sufficient to provide a person with clean and safe water for one year.
