Jazz obert, reunió in Menorca
The latest great event by Jazz Obert has been the recording of a CD. The idea was born when scheduling a concert to celebrate the Festival’s 5th year, intended to bring together the best jazz players in Spain who had already performed in Menorca. Once this had been organized, the only thing left to do was to record the show and release a CD: Jazz Obert Reunió a Menorca.
The CD boasts a spectacular play list of fantastic musicians Xavi Maureta, Perico Sambeat, Gorka Benítez, Raynald Colom, Albert Bover, Dani Pérez, David Mengual and Carme Canela, who played mostly original material; the exceptional work of photographer Gerardo Cañellas; and the participation of technicians from Menorca and elsewhere of international renown, such as Marc Neuhaus. The result is probably the recording with the highest technical and artistic quality produced in Menorca to date. It’s a product capable of competing on equal terms in the national and international markets.
