The Government intended to reform 2 million estate of the Church

The Balearic Government extended two million euros to the budget allocated to the Autonomous Community rehabilitation and maintenance of the architectural heritage of the Church in Menorca. All these facilities have the documentation of BIC (Cultural Property), which means that the government has to assist in their conservation.
The new commitment by the executive autonomy, through its Minister of Presidency, Albert Moragues be made in writing within a period of several weeks, through an addendum to the agreement signed in 2005 with the Diocese of Menorca.
Moragues Palma met yesterday with the apostolic administrator of Menorca, Salvador Giménez, the vicar general, Portella Rafel, Josep Moncada and treasurer. The meeting was also attended by the Councilor of Labor and Training, and Government spokesman, Joana Barceló.
The Minister for Presidency noted that since the agreement was signed during the previous parliamentary term, "new needs have arisen in relation to the preservation of the status of the facilities the church used for worship and activities of social and cultural. Moragues Albert stressed the Government's willingness to cooperate in this regard.
It would meet the bishop. The apostolic administrator said yesterday that the heritage of the Church in Menorca is composed of large buildings whose preservation is expensive. The support of the Christian community Minorcan channeled through donations and the financial contribution by government is critical to achieving this goal.
"I'm frankly pleased with the responsiveness and appreciation for projects that develop," said Salvador Giménez, who explained that this is property that the Church "offers people who visit and people in the community you are. "
