The head of IB-Salut in Menorca, Antoni Gómez Arbona, announced last week that an extra doctor is to be employed this summer in the Accident and Emergency Department at the Mateu Orfila Hospital in Maó to deal with the less serious cases.
The new member of staff will be employed from June to September, working from midday to midnight, to avoid a repetition of the overloading of the A&E service which occurred last summer.
