The King Juan Carlos was moved this morning to Menorca to visit the Illa del Rei, an enclave situated in the centre of the port of Mahon, in an act that was private, to correspond to the invitation extended by the Foundation for Hospital Illa del Rei. EFE / Menorca The monarch, accompanied by the head of the Royal Household, Alberto Aza, landed in a helicopter piloted by himself in this island of 40,000 square metres, being owned by the municipality of Mahon. The King was greeted by Mayor of Mahon in Minorca and senator, Arturo Bagur, the deputy mayor of Urbana, Vicenç Tur, and General Luis Alejandre, former Chief of Staff of the Army, who chairs the foundation established in 2004 to restoration and rehabilitation hospital built during the British rule of Minorca in the eighteenth century.
