More funds for the facade of the Cathedral and the Church of Socors
The diocese and the Consell insular sign two cooperation agreements for the rehabilitation of religious buildings with a value of 278,000 euros

The diocese and the County Council yesterday initialed two cooperation agreements for a total of 278,000 euros for the protection and restoration of the neoclassical facade of the Cathedral of Menorca and for the rehabilitation of the Church of the Socors CIUTADÀ Adell.
The first agreement renews and extends the agreement (2006-2008) signed between the two institutions for the restoration of the neoclassical facade of the cathedral and it could not be run by not achieved one hundred percent of the funding needed for the target.
The new agreement (2008-2010) retrieves all inputs not satisfied by the Council at the previous convention, a total of 135,000 euros, which will be delivered later this year to the diocese. In addition, the initial agreement was extended for two more years at a rate of 45,000 euros per year until 2010 for further restoration of the heritage of the Church defined yet. In total, the Council will provide 225,000 euros in three annual installments. Among these works might be for views of the adequacy diocesan museum next to the Cathedral and the completion of unfinished projects.
The agreement also envisages the creation of a joint commission Consell-Bishopric that will decide the fate of these contributions. Read more on this article
