In approximately two weeks the Local Police force in Es Mercadal will move to new headquarters in the Recinto Ferial (exhibition site), leaving their current premises on the ground floor of a rented building opposite the Town Hall, which will then become a citizens’ information office. The furniture for the new police quarters is expected to arrive within a week or so, after which the move can begin.
The Local Police in Ferreries are also to move shortly. New premises on the ground floor of a building in Avinguda Son Morera are being converted for the force’s use at a cost of 32,000 euros and rented for 700 euros a month. The transfer will give the Local Police more space, increasing from the 50 sq.m. of their present premises to 200 sq.m. [/center]
