Vicenç Tur i Martí takes office as new Mayor of Maó
Tur’s aim is to design a city fit for the future generations with improved sporting facilities, whilst protecting natural resources at the same time

Following the resignation of Arturo Bagur Mercadal as Mayor of Maó at the end of September, Vicenç Tur i Martí was inaugurated as his replacement last Wednesday.
Born in Maó in 1978, Vicenç Tur is the youngest Mayor to have served the town. He gained a degree in Political Science at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a masters in Investigation, Management and Local Development at the Complutense University in Madrid. During his time in the Spanish capital, Tur worked as a municipal expert for the Mayor’s office in the Town Hall of Parla, directing and co-ordinating various projects.
