Thursday 11th September saw the start of the grape harvest at the bodegas of S’Hort de Sant Patrici. Once again pensioners from nearby Ferreries were invited to help with the harvest.
The bodega owners judged that Thursday was the optimum time to begin the harvest; the first grape to be picked was of the syrah variety that will be used to produce their rosado wine named “Cayetana”. In one or two weeks time the grapes for the red wines “Merlot” and “Coupage” will be picked. The owners consider that 2008 has been a difficult year due to weather conditions marked by brief periods of heavy rain.
