Coastal cleaning services working off Es Canutells last week found a dead sperm whale
in an advanced state of decomposition.
The creature’s body, which was between 10 and 12 metres in length and weighed around 5 tons, was towed to the port of Maó to be transfered to the crematorium at Es Milà,
after being examined to try to determine the cause of death.
